OTCIS is EGLE's public-facing system for Michigan's drinking water operator certification program, which oversees nearly 5,000 certified operators serving water supplies across the state. The system allows the public to look up certified operators, search by Water Supply Serial Number (WSSN), and find Advisory Board-approved continuing education courses. EGLE's Operator Training and Certification Unit uses the underlying data to process over 1,000 certification renewals annually and administer biannual exams across four license classifications. The modernization effort is rebuilding the system with current technology to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and align with One State, One Brand design guidelines.
